Bastar Dharma Kshema Samiti (BDKS) was established in the year of 1977 by CMI (Carmelites of Mary Immaculate) fathers of Nirmal Province Jagdalpur. Major Areas of Work include Women Empowerment, Natural Resource Management, Livelihood, Literacy, Voacational Training, Health & Sanitation. etc
1. Gurukul Residential School, Palnar:
The school is having standard 1 to 8th where class 1st, 2nd and 3rd is in English Medium CBSE Pattern and class 4th to 8th is Hindi Medium. There are total 425 students in the school. This school is financially supported by the Zilla Panchayat Dantewada. The organization was awarded for best Social work activity ever done in the field of Promotion of Primary Education in the Left Wing Affected Area of Palnar, Dist-Dantewada.
2. Balpanchayat project:
The Balpanchyat project is the promotion of primary education in the Bastar region mainly the organisation has four sub- centres w.e.f Karpawand, Jagdalpur, Sonarpal and Bhanpuri from which it operates 49 tuition centres with the beneficiaries 1948.
3. Skill Development programmes Sonarpal, Kanker and Kapsi:
The vocational training centre was established to cater the need of the unemployed youths with the supported of DB Tech New Delhi.

4. Health and Sanitation:
the health care programmes include Community Care Centre (CCC), Eye Care Hospital, The BIRDS provides care and services with support of Nirmal Province in the MPM Hospital Campus Jagdalpur, Free Medical Camps for villagers and Schools, District Disability and Rehabilitation Centre (DDRC), HIV /AIDS Awareness Camps etc
5. Nirmal Tailoring Training Centre:
BDKS is running a Tailoring Training Centre in Karpawand. 42 Girls are getting benefit from this programme.
6. Adult Literacy Programme:
Twelve schools have been selected and around the village all the adults who are illiterate are taught to read and write Hindi and English. This year around 430 number of members benefited from this programme.
7. Bastar Rachna Samiti (BRS)
Bastar Rachna Samiti is a charitable voluntary organization started in the year 1998. Its vision is holistic and eco friendly approach for the integral growth and development of poor tribal and marginalized folks of Bastar division. The Schemes and activities include Agro Industry and Rural Modernization coupled with education for economic development and economic cooperation, Health Economic base for tribal with ten amenities, Drought Resistant Organic Multi cropping, Training in Eco-friendly Low cost house cum Mushroom culture construction, Ferro cement biogas technology, Hydroponic system in organic way and Home Care for the Orphaned Babies.
8. Asha Ashram, Parpa
A short stay home for differentially abled and destitutes. At present the institution is having 23 inmates and several persons avail the services of the institution occasionally by short stay.
