To mark the Chavara Year – the CMI Congregation has taken up three projects to benefit the poor and needy among us.
- Chavara Cancer Care: To reach out to at least 1000 Cancer/ TB/ HIV Infected/ affected individuals and families. Rendering help in terms of Treatment expenses, Medicines, Study help/ Scholarship for the infected/ affected children and to promote income generation activities among them.
- Chavara Professional Education Support: Scholarship for the eligible students who are economically backward and less privileged to pursue professional education.
- Chavara Housing Scheme – Each CMI house will help in the construction of a house in their respective province.
As part of Canonization of St. Chavara and St. Euphrasia endowments were handed over to beneficiaries of projects Chavara Cancer Care, Chavara Professional Education Support and Chavara Housing on the occasion of National Thanksgiving Day November 29, 2014, at Rajagiri Valley, Kakkanad.
